International Theatre Centre “Light People” was created as a social project to develop and modernize the modern theater. It is the largest school of acting in St. Petersburg, with a large selection of different educational programs (intensives, workshops, semi-annual conferences, residencies). Students choose from an extensive list of supporting disciplines such as dance, language, acrobatics, singing, or movement. “Light People” also functions as a research center for international and local projects in the field of arts management, organizing lectures, seminars, and meetings.

Alexander Shishkin-Hokusai is an artist. He graduated from the Leningrad State Institute of Theatre, Music, and Cinematography in 1995, and became a member of the Artists’ Union of Russia in 1998. He has been a member of the PARAZIT Art Gallery collective since 2010. Shishkin-Hokusai was twice longlisted for the Kandinsky Prize in the Project of the Year category (2011, 2016) and won the Sergey Kuryokhin Contemporary Art Award for Best Visual Art Project (Bath of Marat, 2016). His installation The Flemish School was exhibited in the Russian pavilion at the 58th Venice Biennale (2019).
