Jiyoung Kim

Jiyoung Kim is a program coordinator at Framer Framed. Her work focuses on how knowledge is translated, mediated, and shared across cultural and disciplinary contexts, with an emphasis on building collaborative platforms that connect different geographies.

Since joining Framer Framed in 2020, she has developed and produced a wide range of programs and research projects centered on artistic activism, as well as the ongoing legacies of the Cold War and military imperialism in East Asia.

Alongside her role as researcher and coordinator, Jiyoung has extensive experience facilitating international collaborations between the Netherlands and South Korea. Her projects include Disaster Haggyo, a disaster studies school supporting site-specific research on disasters in the context of the Korean Anthropocene, and the presentation of Framer Framed as the first Netherlands pavilion at the Gwangju Biennale 2023 in South Korea.

Jiyoung studied Creative Writing and Political Science in Seoul, South Korea, before completing an MA in Art, Literature and Society at Maastricht University.
