Dara Messinger is the longtime Director of Programming at DCTV in New York City where she has overseen the honored organization’s public programs. Through DCTV’s many affordable educational and exhibition programs, Dara has helped to support and champion hundreds of filmmakers from a diversity of backgrounds and their independent documentary projects. Her work continues and deepens as she is now the programmer for Firehouse: DCTV’s Cinema for Documentary Film, a new dedicated home for nonfiction film that features theatrical premieres and curated programs. She is a filmmaker, member of Meerkat Media Collective, and a 2022 DOC NYC Documentary New Leader.
