Liza Popova is an artist, photographer, and cinematographer currently based in Kazakhstan. She works with socially significant themes, highlighting them through documentary films and photo projects. In her projects, Liza raises such thought-provoking themes as feminism and the portrayal of women’s vulnerability in society. Liza’s solo photo exhibition took place in 2022 in Perm, Russia, where the city streets showcased photographs dedicated to the issue of violence. When working on a photograph or a cinematic frame, Liza seeks a vibrant visual image capable of evoking numerous associations in the viewer.
