The second largest university library in the United States, Yale University Library has 8.8 million volumes in its collection. Ms. Simonishvili met with staff from many library divisions including the Beinecke, Arts, Medical and Social Sciences libraries and departments including preservation, economic growth, public relations and catalog and metadata services. She gave a presentation on Georgian cultural heritage and, working with the curator of the Slavic, East European and Central Asian Collection, she assessed Georgian resources in the Library collection and identified a number of Georgia books, journal articles and films which will be considered for acquisition. She also attended a conference at the New York Public Library and visited the Library of Congress, the Connecticut State Library, the Tantaquidgeon Indian Museum and other area libraries and museums.
