As manager of Eski Masjid theatre-studio, an acclaimed provincial company from Karshi, Khodjakulieva is responsible for fundraising and coordinating international productions, including a joint project with the Japan Foundation. She also has overseen the Small Grants Funds at the Swiss Cooperation Office, where she evaluated applications for funding and monitors funded projects. Given the shifting situation of state financing, she was particularly interested in learning about methods of fundraising in the US, but also wanted to develop skills in marketing, production management and organization of festivals and conferences through observation of US organizations.
