Dorothea Braemer is a documentary and experimental media artist and assistant professor in media production at Buffalo State University. In her art, Braemer seeks to playfully address serious issues through collaborative media making. In addition to media, her socially engaged art practice includes performance, masks, dollhouses, social gatherings, and other activities that bring people together. Braemer’s award-winning work has been exhibited widely in the US, Europe and Asia, and has been supported by organizations such as the New York State Council of the Arts, the German Federal Foreign Office, and the Fulbright program.
