Public Media Institute (PMI) is an independent media & cultural nonprofit in Chicago. A community-based organization, it builds and takes care of shared infrastructure like free magazines, community radio stations, artist shops, regional coalitions, cultural centers and festivals. PMI is part of the Buddy System, a network of nonprofit and for profit platforms helping each other out in Chicago’s Bridgeport neighborhood and beyond.
In 2026, Public Media Institute became a host and partner in the ArtsLink International Fellowships program. Nick Wylie, Managing Director, and S.Y. Lim, Director of Programming, oversee the hosting activities.
