Anton Koskov was born in Moscow in 1977 and spent part of his childhood in Berlin. He began his studies at the Moscow Architectural Institute and spent four years working at an architecture studio before transferring to the Moscow State University of Arts and Culture to study theater directing. He then continued his studies at the Gerasimov Instiute of Cinematography (VGIK). Anton is the director of several short films and the co-director of the 2005 multi-series television film Vorotily (Bigshots). His latest short film, The Abyss, received prizes for Best Short Film at the 2009 Tirana International Film Festival and the Andrei Tarkovskiy Memorial Festival “Mirror,” as well as the prize for Best Director at the 2009 VGIK International Film Festival.
