ALEXANDER SAFRONOVProgram BioAugust 2010: Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival in Becket, MA, and New York City Back to More Open World Past Participants in Dance Alexander Safronov, born in Kyrgyzstan in 1980, has a multifaceted background in the performing arts. He began studying music while attending a military academy as a teenager. He then received a degree in choreography from the Kaliningrad College of Culture and Arts, and another degree in theatre directing from the St. Petersburg State Academy of Theatre Arts. Alexander has played trumpet with the Baltic Navy Fleet musical ensemble and choreographed productions for both children and adults at the St. Petersburg Music Hall Theatre. He currently performs at the Theatre of Musical Comedy in St. Petersburg, where he plays the role of Bill Calhoun in Kiss Me, Kate and is an ensemble artist in Chicago.
