Young Musicians on Tour!
The second part of the music project "Playing Together" begins November 12, 2015 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. This concert tour of Central Asian Academy of Contemporary Music participants to the capitals of Central Asia will demonstrate all the young musicians learned last summer during the Central Asian Academy of Contemporary Music, held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
The Central Asian Academy of Contemporary Music’s Tour includes a series of concerts and events showcasing the development of new music in Central Asia and their ever-growing professional relationships. Young performers from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan will take part in this tour, which includes not only concerts but also interactive seminars, rehearsals, and the creation of multi-media projects. A wide range of musical styles and forms will be heard from traditional Central Asian to contemporary experimental.
The Academy program is based on the methodology of ?collective composition? developed by the well-known Uzbek composer Artyom Kim and his countryman, musician and artist Sukhrob Nazimov. Leading trainers and musicians from abroad have been invited to work and perform with the Academy students during the tour: Nurlanbek Nyshanov (Kyrgyzstan), Kenny Savelson (USA), and Artyom Kim, Alibek Kabdurakhmanov, and Jakhongir Shukurov (Uzbekistan). The trainers aim to both immerse the young musicians in contemporary music and stimulate their active, international collaboration.
