ArtsLink supports exchange between artists and arts organizations in the United States and Eastern and Central Europe, Russia, Central Asia and the Caucasus through three separate types of awards. Recipients are selected through a competitive peer panel review process.
ArtsLink Awards are comprised of ArtsLink Projects, ArtsLink Residencies and Independent Projects. These components are funded through public and private sources including the National Endowment for the Arts, the Trust for Mutual Understanding, the Ohio Arts Council, the Kettering Fund, the Milton and Sally Avery Arts Foundation, the Polish Cultural Institue and the Romanian Cultural Institute.
Many former ArtsLink Awards participants also took part in two large-scale events organized and presented by CEC ArtsLink in New York City to showcase the work of artists who have been supported by ArtsLink Awards: Flipside, an exhibition of the work of 34 visual artists held in 2004-2005 at Artists Space, and FlipFest!, an evening of performances by 40 artists held in 2008 at the Angel Orensanz Foundation.
